Special collections

The Kinnear Local Collection contains over 5,000 books and newspapers and offers the opportunity to explore all aspects of life and history in Dundee, Angus and parts of Perthshire. 

The Joan Auld Memorial Collection relates to British labour, social and shipping history. The Rosalind Mitchison collection focuses on the social and economic history of Scotland. 

A particular highlight is the library collection of the Brechin Episcopal Diocese, which includes volumes dating back to the 15th century, containing material of medical, geographical and environmental interest as well as theology.
