Chaplaincy Opening Service – 15th September

The University of Dundee will hold its traditional Opening Service tomorrow. Students, staff and other members of the University community for the event, which takes place at the University Chaplaincy at 12:30pm on Thursday, 15th September. The non-denominational service takes place at the start of each academic year. Professor Pete Downes, Principal of the University, and the Rev Dr Fiona Douglas, University Chaplain, invite all students and staff, and their family and friends to join them for this service and reception....

Dundee dentists pilot public health coaching in prison

A health coaching initiative developed by dentists from the University of Dundee has led to a significant shift in the behaviour and wellbeing of prisoners at HM Prison Perth. The team from the Dental Health Services Research Unit (DHSRU) developed the People in Prison, Health Coaching for Scotland (PeP-SCOT)programme to provide health coaching training for people in prison. University Rector meets Olympic Silver Medallist Stephen Milne

World record-breaking cyclist Mark Beaumont, Rector of the University of Dundee, will meet Olympic medallist and fellow Scotsman, Stephen Milne at the Institute of Sport and Exercise today. Stephen Milne, who lives in Perth, has been a sportscotland Institute of Sport supported athlete for six years and contributed Scotland’s 13 medals out of the 67 won in Rio last month. Mark Beaumont pushes student well-being with new Support Hub

The record-breaking long-distance cyclist Mark Beaumont is set to open the University of Dundee’s new Support Hub next week. Mark, the student Rector, will unveil the Support Hub which aims to cater for a range of support needs for staff and students.
