Staff Survey

Updated on 24 April 2023

Our staff survey is an important way for the University to learn what staff think about working here, helping us to identify both what staff feel is good about the University and what could be improved.

Our 2023 staff engagement survey ran from 21 April - 19 May.

The overall response rate was 66 percent, with over 2000 staff members completing the survey.

Our survey provider, Hive, has provided a report of our survey results for 2023 and these results are now available on the staff engagement survey SharePoint site.

A set of slides is also available which provides a summary of the headline results from the survey, highlights key engagement drivers, and explores the emerging themes.

We will be using the feedback from the survey, to reflect on the things we do well at the University, and how these can be enhanced further, but more importantly, it will allow us to consider the areas where we need to develop and improve.

Work will now commence on developing action plans at University and School/Directorate level, with Deans, Directors, and School Managers working with their teams to identify key actions to progress locally as well as inform the University-wide priorities.

Regular updates on progress will be communicated to staff throughout 2023/24.

The last staff engagement survey was run in 2019 (by Capita) and a summary of the results is available on the SharePoint site.
